It was a thriller in Green Bay as the Packers (0-2) hosted the Detroit Lions (1-1) in the first divisional game for the NFC North. One Packer stood out more than any of them and it was Marquez Valdez-Scantling, MSV was absolutely phenomenal for the Aaron Rodgers led offense. Scantling had 7 receptions going for 149 yards and a touchdown. Davante Adams also added 3 receptions for 73 yards. New Packer on the block Alvin Kamara had 46 yards on 12 carries. An aging Aaron Rodgers sure did miss veteran left tackle David Bakhtiari as the Packers gave up 4 sacks to the Lions defense.

Young star QB Drew Lock improves throwing 15 for 22 with 314 yards 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions. Drew Lock and JuJu Smith-Schuster connected a total of 6 times totaling for 146 yards and a TD. The Detroit Gunslinger also hit Nelson Agholor 4 times for 111 yards, one play breaking for 76 yards had it been 78 it would’ve been a touchdown. Finishing that 76 yard reception on the 2 yard line was Kerryon Johnson who had 21 rushes for 81 yards and 1 touchdown. Taywan Taylor and T.J. Hockenson we’re fairly pedestrian as Taylor posts 2 receptions for 28 and Hockenson for 2 receptions 33 yards.

Defensive Captain last season Jarrad Davis had 2 interceptions, one of the interceptions came in the fourth quarter with 1 minute and 13 seconds left on the game clock. Tracy Walker also had himself an interception in the back of the end zone after a tipped pass. Current defensive captain Trey Flowers made a huge statement that he’s goint for 20+ sacks this season as he adds 2 more to his total of 3 in the season. This Lions defense went from being out of shape and undiscipled to being a sound defense and being fun to watch as they were flying all over the field.

Lions Player of the Game: Jarrad Davis

Jarrad Davis missed a lot of tackles and gave up big plays to MSV but he stood up when it mattered. Jarrad Davis had 4 tackles and ate up blocks allowing Jahlani Tavai and Benardrick McKinney to get a lot of tackles. His ability to cover down field and strength to eat up blocks were the key to the Lions winning the game.
