Season 32 Week 1 Game Review

The Broncos start out 1-0 this season with a huge win over the division rival Chargers. Last season the Chargers best the Broncos in both games. But the Broncos win this game 35-23.


Quarterback Julius Stewart was perfect this game finishing with a perfect QBR of 158.3. He completed 12 passes out of 12 attempts and threw a total of 4 touchdowns and no interceptions. He also completed a touchdown to 4 different players. This game easily being the best of his career.

Running back David McIntyre was a key and important pickup this last offseason to get the run game back to the top. He was successful as in his first game with the Broncos he had 14 carries for 104 yards and 1 touchdown. The first half he didn’t do much but was able to turn it around in the second half.

Bennett Edebali lead the game in receiving yards and continues to play great with 3 receptions for 118 yards and 1 touchdown. Wide receiver Relus Powell is new to the starters but still had 3 receptions for 46 yards and 1 touchdown. Behind him was Darian Montgomery who also had 3 receptions but for 36 yards and 1 touchdown. Lastly tight end Demarco Moss made the most of his 1 reception turning it into 34 yards and 1 touchdown.


The defense played great this game forcing punts and holding off the offense. Middle Linebacker Mustafa Baylark had the only interception of the game and added 2 tackles to it

The defense got a total of 3 sacks this game. 2 came from defensive end Joel Robertson and 1 from cornerback Nick Brooks. Cornerback Eli apple and outside linebacker Shaquil Barrett each had 1 tackle for loss.

Cornerback Jason Verrett, a pickup this last offseason, lead the team in tackles with 7 and did great against his former team. Cornerback Nick Brooks was next with 6 tackles. Safety K.C Hayward, cornerback Eli Apple, outside linebacker Shaquil Barrett each had 4 tackles next.


The Broncos will look to start a win streak as they head into week 2. They are on the road to face the Bills next week.
