With Carson Wentz on the sideline with a dislocated ankle, Joey Boselli led the Philadelphia Eagles to a 23-16 victory over the New York Giants in his first WFL start. On the day, Boselli threw 208 yards along with 1 touchdown and 1 interception.
The Eagles came to a 9-0 lead after failing in multiple drives and Boselli’s interception to S Landon Collins, which proved to be detrimental near the half as the team found itself punting via a safety by CB Ross Cockrell. A 22 yard rush by Ty Montgomery would tie things up.
Soon after, WR DeVante Parker caught a pass over the middle from Boselli and spun left, avoiding two defensive backs and scoring. On the ensuing NYG drive, CB Ronald Darby forced WR Sterling Shepherd to fumble and the linebacker Antwan Young took it 67 yards to the house to put the Eagles up 23-9. The Giants would score again via a Montgomery rush but their efforts were futile as Tyrod Taylor was intercepted by S Malcolm Jenkins to effectively end the game and to hand the Eagles sole possession of first place in the NFC East.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE GAME - WR DeVante Parker (Eagles); 4 rec, 63 yards, 1 TD
