After intense negotiations between the Steelers and the Dolphins they finally reached an agreement for first year Quaterback Mason Rudolph. The Oklahoma St. QB sign with the Dolphins in exchange of a second-round pick in this year’s draft. The Dolphins also got in return Pittsburgh’s fourth-round.
His numbers in his rookie season were 956 yards, 5 touchdowns 9 interceptions with a 56% percent completion giving him a rating of 63.9.
‘I’m really happy to be here in Miami. Great organization. I come here to compete for a starting job and to learn from Ryan anything I can’ -Said Mason at press conference.
‘Rudolph is an interesting player. We are very happy to have him on our squad this year.He is young, he fits our scheme and he could develop really good with our team this year. I don’t know if he is going to be the starter at the beginning of the season, there is still the draft, another round in the free agency and of course Ryan Tannehill getting better every day. The truth is he’s got a great shot to compete for the job, so the preseason will tell us that’ - Explained Gase at press conference.
The Dolphins are heading the draft with a lot of question marks of the team needs. From what we have seen they are talking a leap of faith in every young player they have, and they will take advantage of the picks they’ve got for more young talent. After Gase’s words we don’t know where Rudolph’s stands in Miami’s offensive scheme, but the fans expect him to play since week 1. Who knows, maybe there’s a new sheriff is in town.
