The Carolina Panthers, led by rookie sensation Kyler Murray were one win away on sunday from their first playoff birth of the decade. The Panthers (7-9) steamrolled the Rams and took a 37-0 lead before lasting weather storms caused the game to be cancelled with the NFL League Office determining that Carolina deserves the win. Coach VanGorder and the Panthers capitalized on one of the weaker divisional years in NFL history to bring the divisions title back to Charlotte.
For the Panthers it was no easy feat. They had to win 5 of their last 6 in order to get the the post season which included the Redskins who were looking like they were destined to be led to the promos land at that point, the division Leader by 3 games in the Bucs, and the no slouch Rams. Maybe Carolina has finally found their stride. They host the 49ers which is no easy task and the Panthers will be in the front and center spotlight to the Nations's eyes.
