Preview of the New Miami Dolphins

After another disappointing season in Miami, the Dolphins roster looks like they finally completed the rebuild. The new owner has been able to attract and add talent that gives this struggling franchise the best chance to win games in the MBL. Drafting college star Ben Maxey 8th overall will boost this defensive line when rushing the quarterback and stopping running backs behind the line. Maxey was projected by multiple sources to have the capability to be drafted top 3 because of his first step and his relentlessness to get to the quarterback. Miami had no choice but to draft best available and first guy on their draft board. When asked about the selection New Owner Markov responded “He was a unanimous decision by the staff. It was automatic. He was our first choice but couldn’t imagine such a leader to drop 8 spots.” It seems like a perfect fit because of their lack of pressure and motor at the position. Maxey will most likely be taking the place of Kris Lyle who was once a highly touted Defensive end out of Texas. After 3 years in the MBL the 2nd round pick has only put the quarterback on the ground 8 times. His lack of confidence and ability to develop drove the front office to look elsewhere to get a young cornerstone for the defensive front. No longer will Miami have to worry about the front seven because with the addition to Maxey, they went out into free agency and landed veteran talent. Players such as Vontaze Burfict (MBL), Star Lotulelel (DT), and Xavier Rhodes (DB). These players are going to be able to grow the guys around them and hopefully expand the potential of young hungry players. In the matter of one offseason the entire defense will transform from cupcake to monster. The true test of this team will be in the hands of Asher Darby. This team will go as far as he can take them and we will find out if he is the real deal. He had time to mature and figure his way out in the playbook; which should mean he can lead Miami to the promise land. On the other hand, this is why we play the game and we shall find out fairly early in the season if he has turned over a new page in his career. The Dolphins are in contention of having a boom or bust season and with the fans dying for a winning season; This will be a make or break year for the franchise and their fans.
