With the 2019 season coming to a close the Lions have shaken up the front office by hiring the legendary and notorious GM Sconnie Nation. Sconnie has taken the last season off to do scouting around other leagues and spend time with his cat but is now back ready to add to his 7 CNFL titles. When asked who the main competition in CNFL is for him Sconnie didn’t mince words “Nobody” he responded. Looks like Sconnie is up to the new challenge of rebuilding the Lions.
The first step of the rebuild is to get rid of the bloated contracts and aging roster either by trading or cutting them. With no player being untouchable and a probable top 2 pick being used as trade ammo a top tier talent player should be heading to Detroit in the offseason. The main focus will be rebuilding the secondary since CB Slay was dealt away last offseason for peanuts that was somehow approved by the leagues trade processing committee. Wide receiver is also a need as Galloday was also moved for next to nothing and somehow allows to be traded for peanuts by the league ;p .
QB Stafford will be the starter for the 2020 season with QB Hornibrook serving as his backup. HB Johnson will the the feature back and playmaker of the offense and the team hopes to add 1 or 2 more in the draft or free agency. The defense will be searching for an identity but LB Davis is set for a breakout season in 2020. Only time will tell if Sconnie Nation is able to make a 1 season turn around in Detroit to dethrone the Packers as divison champions.
